Hands and Feet

There are some moments that just make a pastor’s heart swell with gratitude—and Sunday was one of them. Watching our Rocky Valley kids and adults side-by-side, working hard to bring the parade float to life, reminded me once again what it looks like when the church moves. From painting and building, to decorating, organizing, and then walking the route with bright smiles and joyful hearts—every piece of it was a holy labor.

And what a response from our community! The smiles, the waves, the conversations, and the simple warmth from folks lining the streets stirred something deep in me. It wasn’t just a float rolling by—it was the love of Christ on wheels, the hands and feet of Jesus moving through Lebanon one step at a time.

Scripture tells us in 1 Peter 4:10, “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” This weekend, we saw that in action. Every gift—big or small—was used to point toward something far greater than decorations or holiday cheer. It pointed toward the hope of the gospel.

And Colossians 3:23 reminds us, “Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord…” Whether our kids were taping garland, our adults were lifting lumber, or someone was simply offering encouragement and a smile, it was all worship. It was all for Him.

Church family, thank you for showing up—not just with your presence, but with your hearts. Thank you for teaching our children what it looks like to serve with joy. Thank you for loving our community in a way they can see.

May the Lord continue to use our hands and feet to carry His hope, His truth, and His gospel wherever He leads us next.

What a blessing it is to serve together.
