The Church
Welcome to Rocky Valley Baptist Church, a vibrant community rooted in the timeless truths of the Bible. At our RVBC, we believe in the unchanging and authoritative nature of God’s Word as the foundation for our faith and practice. With a commitment to upholding traditional biblical doctrines, we seek to provide a space where individuals can deepen their understanding of the Scriptures and grow in their relationship with God.
Our worship services seamlessly blend the richness of traditional theology with contemporary expressions of faith. We celebrate the diversity of worship styles, incorporating both hymns that have stood the test of time and modern worship songs that resonate with today’s generation. At Rocky Valley, we believe in fostering a welcoming environment where people from all walks of life can come together to worship, learn, and experience the transformative power of the gospel.
Join us as we journey together in faith, embracing the unchanging truths of Scripture while dynamically engaging with the ever-changing world around us.
The Scriptures
Here at Rocky Valley Baptist Church we believe and affirm that the Holy Bible is the authoritative Word of God. We believe the scripture to be the inspired, infallible, inerrant, and God breathed. 2 Timothy 3:16″All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” The Bible is the ultimate source of truth in this world and it is to be preached and taught faithfully without compromise.
Lord’s Supper
We believe the Lord’s Supper is an ordinance of the church that was commanded in scripture by Jesus Christ for us to observe. The Lord’s Supper is to be taken by those who have believed on the Lord Jesus for salvation, have been obedient in believer’s baptism, and have close communion with God. 1 Corinthians 11:23-34
Baptism
We believe baptism to be an ordinance of the church. Only those who have put their faith in Jesus and been born again are to be baptized. Baptism is a command of our Lord and here at Rocky Valley we observe believer’s baptism by immersing believers in water picturing and identifying the believer with the death, burial, and, resurrection of Jesus Christ. This ordinance is performed out of obedience to the scriptures.
Matthew 28:19 – “Go ye therefore and teach all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”
Marriage
We believe Marriage to be a sacred bond between a man and a woman. Marriage is defined in the Word of God as a union between one man and one woman who are joined together in Holy Matrimony. This bond is intended to last for a lifetime. We believe anything outside of this definition does not constitute itself as a true marriage. Marriage was the first institution that God created it is the bedrock on which he built society. Here at Rocky Valley we believe in the power of Godly marriages and Christian homes that are laid out in the Word of God. Genesis 2:24 “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife:and they shall be one flesh.”
Church Leadership
We believe Christ is the head of the Church. Everything done in the church is to be done in obedience to Christ and for the glory of God. The officers of the church are laid out for us in scripture as the Pastor and deacons. The qualifications for these positions in the church are found in 1Timothy 3:1-13. We believe according to biblical definition that these positions must be held by men in the church. There are no qualifications in scripture for women to fill such roles. We believe that men and women are spiritually equal and both have vital roles within the workings of the church however we hold to the divine order presented in God’s Word. (1Tim. 2:12, 1Tim. 3, Titus 1:5-9)
Here at Rocky Valley we are a family of conservative believers that love the Word of God. Our master is Jesus, our method is preaching, our message is the Gospel, and our motive is to see people come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ!
Romans 1:16″For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
